I'm Going to Miss This

Final Steps

Well, today I was pretty busy figuring out last details. I got the codes for my final ticket, recieved the tracking number for my visaed passport and ticket receipts, was able to contact one of the two other exchange students I'll be traveling with from Portland, reconfirmed my flights, spent some time with my friends and had a family 'Go Away Forrest' party. Haha. My dad and I came up with the title. It was appropriate. Tomorrow I plan on going to the bank, doing laundry, going to a football game, spending some more time with friends before I leave, and finish packing my clothes.

On a different note. A friend of mine named Riley is on exchange in Austria right now. Really cool place and somewhere I'd really like to go. Final Departure Date and Itinerary

The last itinerary had some mistakes and was just an early draft to point us in the right direction. This is the final itinerary which allows me to meet up with two other exchange students also headed to Brazil. Four more days!

Departure Date

I AM FINALLY GETTING OUT OF HERE! My departure date is set for Saturday, October 10th. My exact itinerary will be arriving Monday, and I will get my Visa and passport shortly after that. Very soon I will be able to write about something interesting. I can't wait to get there!

Just a quick update. My Visa should be arriving at IYWT very soon and then I will get a departure date! Wish me luck! Everyone knows I need it... =)

Visa Troubles

Well, I'm still here...

I'm still in Alaska and I am currently running a little over a month late due to some Visa technical difficulties. I have tried again and again with no success, and at this point I'm forced to believe that I am Persona Non Grata (That is to say, they don't want me) in the country of Brazil without ever having stepped foot in it. So to fill my unexpected spare time I have started taking an online English Class so that I won't have to do English when I get back, studying portuguese every day at school with possibly the nicest and most patient woman on earth, and rapidly burning through the funds I had saved for spending money on Exchange on last minute splurges with my friends. I'm a busy guy, I just wish I could be a busy guy in Brazil. Hang in there with me and I'll let you know as soon as I have a departure date.
